About Gary

Gary Bell AM

As a child growing up in a small country town Gary developed a passion for photography and art focused on the unique heritage, wildlife and lifestyle of Australia.

He undertook early studies with a view to a career in graphic art, but circumstances resulted in him undertaking a career in communications and the military, while maintaining a strong interest in photographing and painting 'all things Australian'. He now pursues his art and photography full-time. In recent years Gary has concentrated more on the environment and the very special wildlife that call it 'home'. He has also extended his interest to international heritage subjects as well as indulging more in photography, but the mind keeps drifting back to painting.

Gary's art is in private collections in America, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom and New Zealand as well as Australia.

He has had three sketchbooks published on historic Australian 'Pubs' and his art is featured in six other publications and a number of Australian calendars.
